The Training Center began operations in February 2022, producing 16 cubic feet of fresh coco chips per day while processing 3,000 to 3,500 husks per day on average per machine. We currently have three chipping machines working. 13 cubic meters of coco peat and 660 kg of wet fiber per hour are produced by one defibering equipment with a daily average of 200 bags of coco chips are dried by 10 persons. As of May 17, 2023, Bio Grow received deliveries of 79,265.64 kg of dried coco chips and 3,917.75 cubic meters of fresh coco chips. Additionally, 45 individuals (operators, helpers, and drying labor) were employed at the training facility.
Moreover, Three women’s organizations—the Tamlangon Women Association, Talun-talunan Women Association, and Matanao Agri-based Laborer Association—and the training center generated organic fertilizer to use the waste from coco husk processing.
We also extend our training and technical assistance to Brgy. Tamlangon, Matanao Davao del sur in establishing their Gulayan sa Barangay also in schools like Tamlangon Elementary School, Manga Elementary School in Matanao and Lower Bala National high school in Magsaysay, Davao del sur.
